When Immigrants come from countries with one official religion, they often group together and try to force upon their religious practices to the people of the host country. They are appreciative for their freedom to practice their religion, but the matter does not end there. They try to use this freedom to change the cultural values of the host country.
The religion of these new immigrants are not limited to the worship or pray, but also applied to their daily lives. Culture and day to day living are guided by their book of religion. This book is neither inerpreted for the present day values nor it is adapted to the requirement of the present society.They forget that the contents of the book were recited by the representative of God to a prophet, and then these were presented to other persons verbally and perhaps these were again assembled by some other persons in a written form. So, we see God had a language that could be only spoken by a limited number of people who were originated from a region which was not very modern at that period.
Their religion dictates the following:
-Followers of other religions are infidels;
-They are holier than others;
-To keep their women purer than others, they must have strict dress codes;
-Their women are half equal e.g as witnesses before court;
-They can divorce women by simply stating that they want a divorce;
-They must be under their own religious law;
-Other people ouside of their religion are not to be trusted, specially if they are of Jewish faith;
-Their language is the only language through which god communicates;
-Their religion is the ultimate truth because it came after all other religions. etc. etc.
After analysing above, how can someone be sure that this group can be integrated into the host country?To integrate them, the host society must change its fundamental values on which it is based.
So, what can be done? Should the host society draft a new charter of right for religion? A charter of right where religion should be a subject of private matter. It should not interfere in the social structure, in the application of law, in running a public institution and other daily activities where application of this faith is in direct confrontation with others and it can force additional cost, both economic & social, to the host country.
